My Work
Here's some of my work from Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Most of them show different techniques i have learned over the Graphic Design course. A few are my own free style work.

To the left, there is an FBLA pin design that was a final. The concept was for originality and creativity. I chose to do a cactus to represtent Arizona in a simple pin design. To the right, there is a park sign. This project taught me how to use different coloring techniques, patterns, and global swatches.

To the right, there is a fake ad for story time at the zoo. This exercise taught how to use typography in art and how to use the character style panel. It also taught me how to warp text and how to transfer word documents into the file. On the left, another fake ad for the flavor of the month at an ice cream shop. This project helped refine pen tool skills and showcased the different arrow designs offered in Adobe Illustrator. It also showed me how to make dashed lines and how to use the scissor tool.

Pokemon in The Real World: Coral Reef
This is the first of my own creations. I first got an image from the internet of a coral reef. Then I used image trace on the photo to give a more fantasy look. Then I used the pen tool to trace the Pokemon and color them. After each Pokemon was finished, I put them in the scene accordingly. With this side project i learned more about layers and how to use reference photos to match colors. It was a lot of fun to do on the side of my daily work, and when it was done, I decided to make more!
Pokemon in The Real World: Forest
After the ocean fun, I decided to dry off and go into a nice flowery forest. This project is a bit different because now there's shiny Pokemon! For those who don't know, shiny Pokemon are rare, off colored creatures that you can find in the game. Because of the flowery background, which was manipulated by image trace, I decided to go with grass types and a few pink colored shinies. Aside from the shiny Pokemon, I paid more attention to the shadows of the Pokemon sprites. I also figured out how to use the eye dropper painting tool to better match the colors of the Pokemon. It was the same process as the coral reef project, just more color accurate.
Pokemon in The Real World: Ballroom
My latest project, a ballroom scene! I had been working in Adobe Photoshop and decided to implement some of the selection skills I learned in that time. There are a few reused and recolored friends back in this picture. The ballroom itself is from the new live action Beauty and the Beast with image trace over it. Now the little waiters there were made in Photoshop, taking the Pokemon Delibird and giving him a little silver platter and champagne glass to serve. With this project, I now understand and appreciate .png files. These files preserve transparency which made it so much easier to put the characters in without a huge white background with it. It was a much quicker project, but it was fun nonetheless.
Photoshop |
To the right, is a model that was used in teaching me certain aspects of Photoshop. I learned how to brighten and whiten her eyes, and get rid of blemishes and spots. To the left was a repetition exercise. Repetition is the practice of repeating elements to emphasize them. This is shown the a fake glass shop ad, repeating pitchers, cups, and glasses.

To the left is a colored salad with a black and white background. This project taught me select and mask and how to put one element in color. It also showed me how to affect different colors in the background. Making them lighter or darker. To the right is a select and mask assessment. I used the quick selection tool to select the sorbet and part of the background. Then I used select and mask and used feathering to make the fade. After that, I used a black paint brush to clean off the selection. This is the result!

The lovely plate of shells was a selection tool exercise. I learned to use quick selection, lasso tools, and the magic wand tool. Then I simply put the shells in their respective places in the design. I prefer using the quick selection tool because it's faster and selects very cleanly.
